Builder acquires 83 single-family homesites in west Phoenix

PHOENIX — A builder acquired 83 single-family homesites in west Phoenix, officials announced on Wednesday.

Mattamy Homes purchased Baker Farms, a community located at the northwest corner of 79th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Prospective purchasers can select between eight designed floor plans inside the gated community, spanning from 1,313 to 2,490 square feet, with average homesite sizes of 40 feet by 110 feet.

The homes will feature various community amenities, including a 4,500-square-foot splash pad, picnic areas with charcoal grills and a playground.

Sales for the homes are expected to start in the spring of 2026, while closings will begin this fall, according to officials.

“Mattamy is thrilled to join Richmond American Homes at Baker Farms,” Matthew Arneson, vice president of land acquisition for Mattamy’s Phoenix Division, said in a release.

“Richmond has created a fantastic community in a prime location, and we look forward to working alongside them and bringing the Mattamy Way to Baker Farms.”

The sale closed on Dec. 10 for $13.4 million.
