Investigation underway after junkyard fire in Phoenix

An investigation is underway after a junkyard fire in Phoenix left around 30 cars burning on Thursday evening.

PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a junkyard fire in Phoenix left around 30 cars burning on Thursday evening.

Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department responded to the scene near Broadway Road and 19th Avenue around 5 p.m.

Crews were able to contain the fire to a small section of the yard, officials said.

There were no reported injuries and investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
