A man who was arrested in connection with a homicide in the East Valley allegedly hit a patrol vehicle while trying to flee, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man who was arrested in connection with a homicide in the East Valley allegedly hit a patrol vehicle while trying to flee, authorities said.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) identified the man taken into custody as 24-year-old Antwain Clark Jr.
Clark is facing a charge of second-degree murder, authorities said.

According to the sheriff’s office, it received multiple calls regarding shots fired in the area of 140th Way and Villa Cassandra Drive in Scottsdale.
When deputies arrived on scene, they reportedly found a man who was dead in the front yard of a home and saw Clark fleeing.
Police said that while attempting a traffic stop, Clark collided with a marked MCSO patrol vehicle.
He was taken into custody after the collision.
The identity of the victim in the fatal shooting was not released.
