Injured hiker rescued from Camelback Mountain, helicopter deployed
First responders responded to reports of an injured hiker on Tuesday. The Camelback Mountain rescue took place around 11 a.m., authorities said.

PHOENIX — An injured hiker was rescued from Camelback Mountain on Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Technical rescue teams responded to reports of a man with an injured leg around 11 a.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Firefighters hiked to the patient and evaluated him on the Echo Canyon Trail, deciding to rescue the hiker via a hoist operation with a helicopter.
Once the man was airlifted off the trail, he was evaluated again but refused to be brought to a hospital, authorities said.
Earlier this month, the Phoenix Fire Department rescued a 70-year-old Texas man from the same trail.

Most likely NOT a DPS helo,... the majority of Terrain Rescues are done by Search and Rescue (SAR); unless there are exigent circumstances and DPS or MCSO are closer. Staffed byVolunteers and funded by grants or donations. -I always tell poeple,... the SAR Helo is FREE - The Private Ambo ride to the Hospital is NOT. People in the know, refuse medical once they get back to the Parking Lot.

His injury could NOT have been that bad, then..
If it was a DPS helo - we all just PAID for his "free" helicopter ride !
