Firefighter hit in head while dousing flames at building in Phoenix
A firefighter sustained a head injury while working on a fire in west Phoenix on Friday afternoon. He went to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

PHOENIX — A firefighter sustained a head injury while working on a fire in west Phoenix on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
First responders went to put out a fire at a commercial strip center in the area of 33rd Avenue and McDowell Road around 1 p.m.
Falling debris hit a firefighter who entered the structure in the head. He was taken to a nearby hospital for assessment and was in stable condition, the Phoenix Fire Department said.
The fire’s cause is unknown at this time.
