Man arrested after allegedly killing brother during domestic violence-related incident in Surprise

A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his brother during a domestic violence-related incident at a home in Surprise on Friday night, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his brother during a domestic violence-related incident at a home in Surprise on Friday night, authorities said.

Justin Pine, 45, was booked into jail on charges including second degree murder, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, according to the Surprise Police Department.

Officers responded to a residence near Reems and Waddell roads around 11 p.m.

Investigators learned that Pine had called 911 after an argument with his brother 48-year-old Jason Pine resulted in a shooting.

Officers did try to provide life-saving measures to the brother but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pine was taken into custody without incident.

No other information was available.
