Chandler unveils 70th city park, upgrades to 2 existing parks

PHOENIX — The city of Chandler will open its 70th park on Saturday, while two existing parks will celebrate new upgrades, according to a Wednesday announcement.

Orangetree Park, located off the Loop 101 and near Warner Road, spans 1.7 acres and features a playground and a walking path. The new park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The name for Orangetree Park was picked after a public survey by Chandler residents was held from Jan. 9 to Jan. 29.

Brooks Crossing Park and Gazelle Meadows Park are set to celebrate upgrades after construction began on both parks last year.

What upgrades will be coming to Chandler parks?

Brooks Crossing Park, located near Calle Del Norte and Central Drive, will see upgraded amenities, including new playgrounds, exercise stations, ramadas and a pickleball court along with an improved basketball court.

Gazelle Meadows Park, located near Exeter and Erie streets, will see new upgrades, including a new basketball court and parking lot.

Each park will celebrate the upgrades with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke giving a short speech before each ribbon-cutting.

Orangetree Park’s opening ceremony will be at 8 a.m. Brooks Crossing Park and Gazelle Meadows Park will open at 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., respectively.
