PHOENIX — Sprouts Farmers Market is planning to open its first store in the northeast Valley suburb of Fountain Hills.

The Phoenix-based grocer has submitted a site plan for a proposed 23,024-square-foot store in the Four Peaks Plaza, which is on Shea Boulevard near State Route 87.

“The Fountain Hills residents have been asking for a specialty grocery store since I started with the town over three years ago,” Amanda Jacobs, the town’s economic director, said in a Wednesday press release.
