Human remains found at West Valley landfill, triggering police investigation
An employee working at a privately-run regional landfill in Surprise discovered a deceased body on Thursday morning. Police are investigating.

PHOENIX — The Surprise Police Department is investigating the recent discovery of human remains at a regional landfill.
An employee at the privately-run landfill in Surprise discovered the body around 7 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
The employee immediately contacted law enforcement.
Surprise Police investigating human remains found at landfill
Police have launched a full investigation into the body. They’re working with the Maricopa County Examiner’s Office to determine the identity and cause of death.
