PHOENIX — A woman was found dead Monday in an Avondale apartment after an apparent drowning in a bathtub, authorities said.

At 3:51 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check call on a 23-year-old woman at an apartment on Norton Street and Fourth Avenue. The family of the woman had not heard from her in two days.

Officers then discovered her submerged in the bathtub, where she was pronounced dead on the scene.

At the time of her death, authorities say it was due to a medical related issue and there are no outstanding suspects.
