PHOENIX – A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred east of downtown Phoenix last week, authorities said Monday.
Sebastian Serrano is accused of killing 31-year-old Joshua Hernandez Jr. on the evening of Jan. 31, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
Officers responded to a shooting call near 16th and Roosevelt streets around 7 p.m. and were told by witnesses that a man had been asking for directions to the closest medical facility because his friend had been shot.
Hernandez was later located at a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Serrano was booked Saturday on one count of first-degree murder, police said.
No details about how investigators tied Serrano to the case were made available.
