Dozens of business start-ups in the Valley have a chance to network with and possibly receive funding from Angel Investors during an investment event in Phoenix.

More than 40 entrepreneurs will have a chance to pitch their business ideas to the investors at Grand Canyon University Thursday. The event is hosted by networking organization Funding Post.

“We give companies an opportunity to pitch for one minute but then also network and communicate with these investors during the event,” Funding Post Regional Manager Scott Kelly said.

The goal of the event is to bridge the gap between investors and local companies in need of financial support.

“We are expecting total attendance to be approximately 140 to 150 people, and in terms of investors we have ten on the investor panel,” Kelly said. “And quite honestly we will probably have a dozen or so investors in the audience.

There is currently a waiting for companies who would like a time slot to pitch their business ideas at the event.

The event will take place this Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Grand Canyon University’s Student Union.
