Two pilots walked away from a military helicopter that crash-landed Sunday night in a Lake Havasu City parking lot, according to city officials.
Crews were called to the area of London Bridge Road and the boat launch ramp at 10:15 p.m. for a reported aircraft emergency.
The pilots got out of the helicopter on their own and were taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center. Their conditions were not released.
Because the helicopter was leaking fuel, firefighters covered it in fire suppressing foam.
No firefighters were hurt.
Military personnel are investigating the cause of the crash landing.
Lake Havasu City Fire Department officials said Monday they did not know which military branch the helicopter belonged to and had no update on the pilots’ conditions.
The major military installations in Arizona closest to Lake Havasu City are the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
