Climbing gym, boutique fitness studio to open at Chandler shopping center

The Alta Boulders climbing gym opens Friday at Las Tiendas Village, while Eat the Frog Fitness is planning to debut at the Chandler shopping center in January.

PHOENIX – Two fitness-focused tenants are set to join the lineup at an East Valley shopping center.

The Alta Boulders climbing gym opens Friday at Las Tiendas Village, while Eat the Frog Fitness is planning to debut in January, according to a press release from the Chandler plaza.

Las Tiendas Village, on the northeast corner of Alma School and Queen Creek roads, near Chandler’s Ocotillo community, is home to more than 20 businesses.

Family-owned Alta Boulders boasts Arizona’s only Olympic-sized 15-meter competition speed wall, along with a gym and cycling studio.

The family-friendly facility, designed for all levels of indoor rock climbing, will also offer yoga classes and youth programs.

Alta Boulders is a sister venue to Alta Climbing & Fitness, which according to the company’s website is scheduled to open this month at 3193 S. Ranch House Court in Gilbert, off Pecos Road near Power Road.

Eat The Frog Fitness is a national franchisor co-founded by Olympic decathlon gold medalist Bryan Clay.

The boutique studio provides virtual in-studio, coach-led and one-on-one training programs.

The Chandler location will be the second Eat The Frog Fitness in Arizona, joining one at Desert Ridge in Phoenix.
