Man partially laying in Phoenix roadway dies after being struck by vehicle

PHOENIX — Phoenix police said a man partially laying in the roadway died after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning.

Authorities responded to the fatal incident around 5:15 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road and learned 39-year-old Robert Arzola was in the roadway.

Arzola was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said impairment isn’t believed to be a factor.

No additional information was made available.
