PHOENIX — The Four Peaks Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake will be back in-person this year after people were forced to raise a mug virtually last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The three-day outdoor Bavarian-themed festival will celebrate its 49th year from Oct. 8 to 10, according to a press release on Tuesday.

It is open to all ages and will feature live music, food and drinks, games, carnival rides, dancing and more.

General admission will cost $10 for Friday and Saturday and people can get in for free on Sunday. Admission is free for kids age 12 and younger all weekend.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Proceeds from the event benefit Tempe Sister Cities, a nonprofit exchange program that sends Tempe high school students to cities around the world to encourage cross-cultural cooperation and collaboration.

The organization was founded in 1970 and features 11 cities from around the world, a list that has been growing since the organization’s inception.

We want to hear from you.
