Fountain Hills Music Festival returns Saturday with four musical acts

PHOENIX — The Fountain Hills Music Festival will make its return on Saturday night after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the 2020 event.

The free festival will take place from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Fountain Park (12925 N. Saguaro Blvd.) and feature musical acts ranging from “true 80’s” pop-rock to indie rock, according to a press release.

Well-known guitarists The Mike Eldred Trio with special guest Big Nick kicks off the music festival, followed by Phoenix-based cover band Rock Lobster at 5:30 p.m., indie band New Chums at 7 p.m. and ending the night at 8:30 p.m. is up-and-coming hip-hop Phoenix artist Bodie.

Other amenities at the festival include food trucks and a beer garden by Bone Haus Brewing. Presale beer tickets can be purchased online ahead of the event. T-shirts can be bought for $20 either online or at the event with credit cards only.

Facemasks are required in common areas, according to the release, and people are asked to maintain a distance of at least six feet.

People are advised to bring blankets or chairs as seating is not provided.

Alcohol and glass containers can not be brought into the event and smoking is not permitted.

Town officials said the declining COVID-19 cases – not only in the town but around the county – along with the high number of vaccinations in Fountain Hills, increased capacity in county hospitals and the organization’s COVID-19 mitigation plans were factors in the decision to allow the event to be held, according to the release.
