A new World Trade Center observatory opening in May 2015 will feature a timelapse video that takes you back to 1500s Manhattan.
The exhibit opening at 1 World Trade Center is haunting, Mashable reports. It’s especially poignant, because of the events of September 2011.
The images show New York City built from the ground up, dating back to its grassy beginnings in the early 1500s. The buildings climb, and then one tower disappears from the skyline. It’s chilling.
The New York Times offers a preview of the video. It will be superimposed onto the sides of an elevator after visitors make it to the 102nd floor.
