Phoenix Zoo’s Sumatran Tiger, Jai, makes pick for Super Bowl LV

Jai, a Sumatran Tiger from the Phoenix Zoo, believes he knows who is going to win Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

PHOENIX — A Sumatran Tiger from the Phoenix Zoo believes he knows who is going to win Super Bowl LV on Sunday.

Jai, a 16-year-old, picked the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs to repeat as Super Bowl winners.

He was quick to pick the favored Chiefs, who lost just twice in 18 games this season on the way to the National Football League’s biggest event.

Zookeepers laid out two cardboard boxes filled with equal amounts of scented behavioral enrichment before letting Jai make his selection.

If the Chiefs win, it’ll make two Phoenix Zoo animals in as many years to correctly pick the Super Bowl winner.

Huck, a hyena, chose the Chiefs over the San Francisco 49ers in the 2020 version of the big game.

Kansas City won that game, 31-20, to fulfill Huck’s prophecy.

Super Bowl LV kicks off Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Arizona time in Tampa Bay.
