1-year-old boy in critical condition after drowning incident

PHOENIX – A 1-year-old boy is in critical condition after being pulled from a home pool in Mesa Sunday.

Mesa Fire and Medical and Superstition Medical responded to a drowning call near Signal Butte and Broadway roads.

Upon arrival, crews found a 1-year-old boy who was under the water for an unknown amount of time.

The child was pulled from the pool before crew arrived.

Medical crews were able to regain the child’s breathing through life saving interventions, but he remained unresponsive.

The child was transported to a local children’s hospital in critical condition.

No other information was immediately available.
