PHOENIX — A 54-year-old man who allegedly chased his wife down a street holding a gun and forced two schools in Chandler into lockdown for several hours was arrested Thursday evening, authorities said.

Robert Hise was wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was considered armed and dangerous, police said.

He was arrested at the 7200 block of Chandler Boulevard around 7:45 p.m., according to Chandler police.

The woman, who is safe, reported the incident around 12:30 p.m.

Kyrene del Pueblo Middle School and Kyrene de la Paloma Elementary School were placed on lockdown while police searched the neighborhood east of the schools.

Just before 4 p.m., police said the lockdown was lifted at Pueblo and would soon be lifted at Paloma.

An hour later, police broke down the perimeter of the search and cleared the scene.

A $1,000 reward was being offered for information leading to his arrest.
