PHOENIX — Drivers traveling should expect long delays leaving Phoenix on Interstate-17 northbound due to heavy holiday traffic.
There are no reports of crashes or other incidents at the moment.
Maps are showing slow vehicle movement between State Route 74 in North Phoenix and Sunset Point Rest Area.
I-17 northbound delays begin near State Route 74 and extend to about Sunset Point. There are no reported crashes or other problems as of now, as this is only from heavy holiday weekend traffic. #aztraffic #PhxTraffic pic.twitter.com/5my7tsr88T

ADOT said drivers should make plans for extra travel time or to consider other routes to northern Arizona through Payson on state routes 87 and 260.
Southbound lanes have not been affected but, there isn’t an estimated time for northbound delays to clear.
