Amazon introduces new grocery service in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A new grocery service from Amazon has made its way to Phoenix.

The online retail company announced Thursday in a press release that the Valley is one of three new cities where AmazonFresh is now available.

Customers who have Amazon Prime can shop from thousands of products — from meats to produce to everyday essentials — with free two-hour delivery.

The service is an additional $14.99 per month for Prime members.

“We’re thrilled to introduce AmazonFresh to Prime members in Houston, Minneapolis and Phoenix,” AmazonFresh and Prime Now Vice President Stephenie Landry said in the release. “Prime members tell us they want their stuff even faster.”

Beer and wine is not available for delivery in Phoenix, according to the release.

Customers can also order groceries through the service through speaking into the Alexa smart speaker.

Alexa will add grocery choices based on past purchases or top results with other customers, the release said.
