Grand Canyon National Park offering free entrance Saturday

PHOENIX — Grand Canyon National Park is celebrating the 49th anniversary of Earth Day by providing free entrance on Saturday.
The Grand Canyon Visitor Center Plaza on the South Rim will be hosting free Earth Day activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including snacks and crafts, according to a news release.
Other events include a Subaru vehicle exhibit, a scavenger hunt, a leather-work demonstration, a steam engine demonstration and opportunities to feed the mule team.
Visitors will still have to make purchases for camping, reservations, tours and general concessions.

Although Earth Day is Monday, Saturday marks the first day of National Park Week.
The Grand Canyon National Park is also celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The park will host three more fee-free days this year on Aug. 25, Sept. 28 and Nov. 11.
