Suspect outstanding after shooting kills 1, seriously injures 1 in Phoenix

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are looking for a suspect who fatally shot a man and seriously injured another man Saturday night.

Police said they responded to a call about a shooting near Seventh Avenue and Broadway Road around 7 p.m.

They found no victims at the scene but later located two injured people near Seventh Avenue and Buckeye Road.

Phoenix Fire transported both men to a hospital, where 21-year-old Brian Ruiz was pronounced dead.

The other man, 19, was in serious condition.

Police said the suspect fired shots at the men from a vehicle and fled the scene.

No further information about the suspect was immediately available.
