Phoenix-area pharmacy tech indicted for stealing, selling medical supplies

PHOENIX – A Phoenix-area pharmacy tech was indicted by a grand jury on 33 counts this month for stealing medical supplies and reselling them online.

Robert Brian Kemple, 30, allegedly stole more than $100,000 worth of supplies between March and September of 2017 from a CVS store in Goodyear, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office said Friday in a news release.

Kemple was accused of using his position to order diabetic test strips for the store that he sold online.

He was indicted on June 11 for fraudulent schemes, theft, trafficking in stolen property and 30 counts of computer tampering.

The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Goodyear Police Department and the Attorney General’s Office Heath Care Fraud and Abuse Section.

Kemple was one of more than 600 people charged, including doctors and nurses, as part of the National Health Care Fraud Takedown, which targeted health care fraud and opioid-related crimes across the U.S.
