PHOENIX — An Arizona woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly fought and threw coffee on a Taco Bell worker because her drink was not hot enough.

The Cottonwood Police Department said Rochelle Moreno, 30, pulled into the drive-thru of the fast-food restaurant on Aug. 31.

She asked for a fresh cup of coffee after feeling hers sat too long while she waited for her order. An employee misunderstood and offered her a second, empty cup, which upset her.

Police said Moreno parked her car and walked into the restaurant, where she started yelling at employees. She was asked to wait outside.

An employee tried to take a photo of Moreno’s license plate and she allegedly tried to knock the phone out of his hand.

When the employee went to block her, Moreno threw her coffee on him.

The unidentified employee was hospitalized with first-degree burns to his face and neck.

“Based on his injuries, the coffee was hot, not warm,” police said in a release.

Moreno was charged with two counts of assault and one count of disorderly conduct.
