PHOENIX — A Safeway store in the West Valley and another in Globe, Arizona, will be closing next month, according to a news report.
The Peoria store at 67th and Peoria avenues will be shutting down, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.
A Safeway representative said there were efforts underway to place the 94 workers at other stores.
The chain will be merging with grocery rival Albertson’s. That deal was made in January.
