PHOENIX — A musical crossover tour featuring rock band Blink-182 and rapper Lil Wayne will be stopping in Phoenix this summer.
The two acts are set to hit the road for a three-month tour from June 27- Sept. 18. They have collaborated to mash up some of their most popular songs in a promotional video, which featured Lil Wayne rapping his popular 2008 song “A Milli” over the Blink-182 instrumental from the 1999 hit “What’s My Age Again?”
The duo will be in Phoenix on Aug. 5 at the Ak-Chin Pavilion and tickets went on sale Friday on the Live Nation website.
Lil Wayne recently performed in Phoenix on March 16 at the 2019 Pot of Gold Festival.
Blink-182 last performed in Phoenix in 2016 during their California Tour. In 2018, they signed a residency deal with the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas for 16 shows.
This is not the first time Blink-182 has tried a crossover project with an artist of a different genre.
While in Las Vegas, the band collaborated with EDM artist Steve Aoki. Drummer Travis Barker has also collaborated with rappers The Game, Soulja Boy, Big Sean, Yelawolf, Kid Cudi and Jay-Z in the past.
Crossover acts have seen recent success with the explosion of current Billboard Hot 100 top song “Old Town Road,” a collaboration between rapper Lil Nas X and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
The tour features 38 tour dates, although Lil Wayne is only scheduled to appear in 33 of the shows.
