PHOENIX – Coworking space Galvanize has reeled in a big fish for its downtown Phoenix site – Google Cloud Arizona.
A staff of 12-14 remote workers will be able to collaborate at the site at Fifth and Grant streets.
“The leadership team at Google understands the value of driving teamwork and collaboration when managing remote teams,” Diana Vowels, Galvanize general manager, told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday.
“Their team members work remotely but they understand the power of in-person collaboration, and the Google suite at Galvanize provides the place for collaboration and networking.”
The Google team is in the process of setting up its suite, Vowels said.
Denver-based Galvanize, which has nine campuses nationwide, offers open seating, reserved desks and private suites to startups and bigger tech companies with smaller groups of remote workers.
The Phoenix site, a two-story, renovated warehouse of 55,000 square feet, opened two years ago.
“The collaborative space also serves Google’s external customers, providing central meeting and workspace to serve their customers,” Vowels said. “The vibe and location of Galvanize worked well for Google’s needs.”
Google also has spots at two other Galvanize campuses, in Denver and San Francisco, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
“Galvanize and Google share a passion for making tech accessible to all,” Vowels said.
