PHOENIX – What are Arizonans interested in on National Pi Day?
According to Google Trends, the answer is lemon meringue pie.
(Come to think of it, is lemon meringue pie ever a wrong answer?)
The search giant tweeted a U.S. map Thursday showing the pies that get the most unique searches in each state.

Arizona was the only state to favor the tangy and sweet concoction of lemony custard with a fluffy topping of whipped egg white and sugar.
For the record, the fact that March 14 is known as Pi Day has nothing to do with dessert.
The date’s numerical expression of 3-14 matches the first three digits of the mathematical constant known as pi, named after the Greek letter π by smart people.
But that hasn’t stopped creative folks from branching out into pi’s homophone and connecting the date to all sorts of pie, from chicken pot to pecan to pizza.
