PHOENIX – Grammy-winning singer-songwriter John Mayer has scheduled a stop in Phoenix on his summertime American tour, it was announced Monday.
Mayer will play downtown’s Talking Stick Resort Arena on Sept. 10. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show will go on sale to the general public at noon Friday, but presales for certain buyers will begin Tuesday.
The international portion of Mayer’s solo tour starts in New Zealand and Australia in March.
It’s been nearly two years since Mayer played the Valley. He brought his Search for Everything tour to Phoenix in August 2017.

Two pairs of front-row tickets will be auctioned off to benefit Mayer’s Back to You Fund, which raises money for health care and the arts, among other charitable causes.
The winning bidders will also meet Mayer before the show.
Specific credit-card company’s members and Mayer fan club members can begin buying tickets Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The U.S. tour kicks off July 19 in Albany, New York and finishes Sept. 14 in the Los Angeles area.
Mayer will have only recently been back from a tour with Dead and Company, the band made up of former Grateful Dead members and the Allman Brothers, when he starts his solo journey.
The 41-year-old guitarist first hit the charts in a big way with the 2002 hit “Your Body is a Wonderland.”
He has won seven Grammys out of 19 nominations.
