Prominent Arizona figures remember the life of John McCain on KTAR News 92.3
John McCain passed away Saturday at the family’s home in northern Arizona. Many people who worked closely or knew McCain spoke with KTAR News 92.3.

John McCain passed away Saturday at the family’s home in northern Arizona.
Many people who worked closely or knew McCain spoke with KTAR News 92.3’s Jim Sharpe and Larry Gaydos to remember the legacy of the senator.
Former attorney general Grant Woods
Former attorney general and longtime friend Grant Woods recalled times they shared together publicly and privately. He noted the legacy McCain left behind.
Former governor Jan Brewer
Former governor Jan Brewer recalled the life and legacy of McCain. She became emotional while remembering the life of the late senator.
Attorney general Mark Brnovich
Arizona attorney general Mark Brnovich was one of the first to join the live coverage. He was once an intern for McCain and shared personal stories of the late senators mentorship.
Kyrsten Sinema
Arizona congresswoman and democratic senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema remembered McCain for his ability reach across the aisle. She spoke about his bipartisan policies and political career.
Jerry Colangelo
Sports executive and longtime Arizona celebrity Jerry Colangelo remembered McCain as a family man and a hero. He recalled meeting McCain during his first run for public office.
Derrick Hall
Another sports figure, president and CEO of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Derrick Hall also spoke to McCain’s life and legacy. He told stories about how much of a D-backs fan McCain was.
Melissa Blasius
ABC15’s Melissa Blasius was at the McCain family’s Sedona ranch when the senator passed. She spoke about the scene outside as police and on-lookers gathered.
