Marvel Studios dropped a second trailer Friday for the long-awaited “Avengers: Infinity War” movie and it looked amazing.
The action-packed preview featured all the usual suspects: Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, along with the rest of the gang.
It also gave a quick breakdown of the plot.
Thanos, the main villain played by Josh Brolin, will seek the infinity stones that are scattered throughout the galaxy. The stones would give him unlimited power and allow him to impose his will throughout the universe.
Dr. Strange holds one of the stones, which will effectively act as bait for Thanos.
However, pieces of the trailer showed that the Avengers might bite off more than they can chew. Iron Man, in his Hulkbuster suit, was shown outnumbered and being trampled on, someone was torturing Dr. Strange and Thor — who if you remember is an actual god — was shown being pushed around like a dog by Thanos.
Despite the dark aspects of the plot and trailer there was comedy sprinkled throughout, as is the case with most Marvel movies. The trailer showed a scene between Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt, telling Iron Man that his plan sucks and Spider-Man still trying to understand how being a superhero works.
The film is the latest chapter of the universe that Marvel has created over the past decade, which began with the release of the original “Iron Man” in 2008.
The movie comes out April 27.
