First hotel to open at Tempe Town Lake next month

Tempe Town Lake gets its first hotel in May 2016.

The AC Hotel Phoenix/Tempe Downtown will be located at 100. E Rio Salado Parkway near Mill Avenue and is set to open next month, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.

The European-style hotel will be not only the first Tempe Town Lake hotel but also the first in the western U.S. It comes from Marriott International and will be the 10th of its kind in the country.

The hotel will feature a fitness center; a rooftop pool; a library that serves as a working space with digital amenities; a lounge offering food and drinks and a restaurant.

AC Hotels first opened in Spain in 1998 and was acquired by Marriott International through a joint venture in 2011.
