Vehicle fire in Mesa delays US 60 traffic during rush hour, sends 1 to hospital with burns
Traffic on westbound US 60 in Mesa was delayed during rush hour Friday morning after a vehicle fire that left a person hospitalized.

Traffic on westbound US 60 in Mesa was delayed during rush hour Friday morning after a vehicle fire that left a person hospitalized, authorities said.
The incident elicited a large police and fire department response, with significant activity on the Alma School Road off-ramp.
Mesa Fire and Medical put out the fire and attended to one patient. The person was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious burns.
The mainline freeway was closed briefly but reopened around 7:40 a.m.
Westbound traffic was backed up to Gilbert Road by the time the closure was lifted.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the westbound US 60 off-ramps at Country Club and Alma School roads will be closed through rush hour for the investigation.
