Report: Arizona tied for lowest college graduation rates nationwide
Arizona and Alaska are tied for the lowest graduation rates in the country, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Arizona is tied for the lowest four-year college graduation rate in the country.
A new report from the U.S. Department of Education shows only 29 percent of students who enter college in Arizona and Alaska finish a degree within four years.
The national average is 55 percent. Arizona also has the highest default rate on student loans, with nearly one in five student loans ending up in default.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan said graduation rates are especially low, and default rates are especially
high when it comes to for-profit schools.
