PHOENIX — A teenager walking past a bus stop in Phoenix died Wednesday morning after two vehicles collided, sending one into the bus stop.

The 16-year-old Sunnyslope High School student was hit near the intersection of Glendale and Central avenues.

The crash forced a commercial truck hauling a trailer into a spin, a witness told police. The trailer then jumped the curb and slid into the bus stop and the teen.

Passersby attempted to administer first aid to the boy, who later died at a hospital.

At least one other person was injured but not seriously.

Police said neither speed nor intoxication appear to be factors.
