PHOENIX — A family in Payson, Arizona has taken extra precaution from Ebola and is quarantining themselves from the outside world for three weeks after the father spent time in Liberia.
Allen Mann, a missionary and regional director with Crossway International who travels internationally often, returned from Liberia on Sept. 28 after spending 12 days in the country.
Mann, his wife and four kids now plan to stay inside their home to make certain he is Ebola-free.
Mann feels fine and has a doctor on-call if symptoms of the life-threatening virus would show.
On the trip Mann also took extra caution in everything he did, including putting on an outfit that had been vacuum-sealed before he left.
Mann took hospital-grade disinfecting tablets, brought back very little, ate or drank only new or sanitized items, did not touch anyone, had travel insurance that guaranteed an evacuation flight, sanitized all of his items, records his temperature daily, made arrangements with the aforementioned doctor and of course, the voluntary self-quarantine. He also has a travel-trailer available if he would need to go into self-quarantine.
