An airplane crashed in the northwest Mexican state of Durango on Monday, according to a tweet from the airline Aeromexico.

AeroMexico said it was “aware of an accident in Durango and we’re working to gather details and verify the information.”

The state’s governor, José Rosas Aispuro Torres, said there were no fatalities in the crash that occurred at the General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport in Durango.

But Aispuro later said authorities were searching the charred Embraer 190 to make sure that “no person has died.”

He said the pilot and one other person were in serious but stable condition. Earlier, he said a total of 49 people had been taken to hospitals, and officials said most had minor injuries.

“Fortunately we have now found all 103 — now we know where each one is — this gives us a lot of tranquility,” Aispuro said.

Aispuro Torres told reporters earlier that the plane had just taken off when the pilot tried to land it due to bad weather, but it was too late, according to ABC News.

The plane reportedly went down after the runway ended.

Survivors were being transported to area hospitals, a spokesperson for Durango’s State Coordination of Civil Protection told ABC News.

The flight was on the way to Mexico City. The plane, an Embraer 190, had a capacity of 100 people.

Reuters reported that 97 passengers and four crew members were on board.
