Tempe families demand emergency housing relief from Gov. Katie Hobbs
Today unhoused families are planning to march from a Motel 6 to Tempe city hall to demand the city requests aid from Governor Katie Hobbs. These families are living in a motel near Priest and Broadway through community funds raised each night by advocate Austin Davis with AZ Hugs.
KTAR News Reporter Balin Overstolz is talking with those families and will bring you more on their perspective. One mother says it’s always hard to raise a child but even more so when there is no stability.
Davis has continually called for a declaration of emergency or other state intervention to help the dozens of families he gets into the hotel find a long-term solution.
