Rep. Andy Biggs pushes back on opponent Katie Hobbs' criticism of his role in stopping an FLDS polygamous sect leader in 2013

Rep. Andy Biggs, who is running for Arizona governor, pushed back on opponent Katie Hobbs' criticism about his role in stopping an FLDS polygamous sect leader in 2013.

"The bill that came up in 2013 was overly broad," he told KTAR News 92.3's Arizona's Morning News. "It wasn't well-crafted, which is why I think the police associations came out against it at that time. She can say whatever she wants to say, and I'll stack my record up against hers.

"Whatever she wants to say, it's bogus, it's crap, it's a lie."

Biggs also pointed out that he prosecuted hundreds of domestic violence cases to protect women and children, and said that in 2011 and 2012 he voted to decertify the Colorado City police department.
