John Giles on what he brings to the ticket as Gov. Katie Hobbs' running mate
“I continue to identify with a lot of the principles that the Republican Party says it identifies with,” former Mesa Mayor John Giles told Arizona’s Morning News.
Giles, who changed his voter registration from Republican to unaffiliated, is Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs’ running mate in the 2026 election. This is the first Arizona election in which gubernatorial candidates must select running mates, with the winning lieutenant governor becoming next in line to serve as governor if needed.
