True love: Couple sings love song together as wife lay dying in hospice

Warning: This video will cause you to cry all your tears and hug all your loved ones.

One final warning: This video will make you feel all the feels.

The YouTube video, posted by Erin Solari, showed her grandfather, Howard, singing to his wife Laura, who lay dying in hospice.

Howard, now a 92-year-old World War II veteran, sang the couple’s love song, “You’ll Never Know” popularized by Rosemary Clooney with Harry James’ band, to 93-year-old Laura. The pair had spent nearly 75 years of their lives together, Solari wrote in the video’s description.

“I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them,” she wrote in the video’s description. “Howard is singing to her their love song, the song that comforted her when he went away to fight in World War II.”

Solari said the couple would often sing the song together at family gatherings and even performed it at their vow renewal after 50 years of marriage.

“Sadly, (Laura) is now too weak to sing, but that doesn’t stop her from saying the words to him,” the video’s description read. “Howard then takes over for her and sings the rest of the song to her while stroking her face.”

Laura, who has macular degeneration, cannot see much other than shadows and light, but that did not stop her from spending some final moments with the love of her life, Solari said.

“That doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes,” the video’s description read. “(Howard), on the other hand, has lost most of his hearing, so you’ll notice us repeating things for him since (Laura) is to weak to raise her voice.”

The video has been viewed nearly half a million times on YouTube and Facebook. Solari said the response to the video lifted Laura’s spirits as she remains resting at home.
