Texas politician takes his work home in new campaign ad

Travis County Commissioner Gerald Daugherty is running for re-election this November, and he doesn’t seem to have much else on his mind. The incumbent released a satirical campaign ad Wednesday depicting a dinner date inside the Daugherty household.

Daugherty’s wife is interviewed throughout the video, in which she expresses her concerns about her husband’s lack of hobbies. The camera also catches Daugherty talking to his guests as he lectures about fun topics like tax rates, public transportation and code violations.

The ad concludes with Daugherty’s wife practically begging for her husband’s re-election. She must be ready to talk about something else.
