Silver Alert issued for missing Gilbert, Ariz. man

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was issued Wednesday night for a missing Phoenix-area man, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Gilbert Police issued a Silver Alert for 91-year-old William Cies, who was last seen at his home on Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m. when he told his wife he was going to check on his red 1976 Mercedes coupe, which he said it needed to be started every four hours.

Cies and his wife live at 4309 W. Strawberry Lane in Gilbert, Arizona. Police said the vehicle has an Illinois license plate of MPC72.

Police said Cies suffers from Alzheimer’s. Cies is described as a 5’9″ man with gray hair and brown eyes.
