Main Street Minute: Airline hiring for call center based in metro Phoenix
An airline is hiring for its call center in the East Valley and a West Valley city's police department has been awarded nearly $45,000 in grants.

• Alaska Airlines is hiring reservations and customer-care agents. Both full and part-time positions are available at the call center in Chandler. Some positions can be worked from home.
• The Surprise Police Department has received nearly $45,000 to help fight drunk driving. The grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety will fund overtime costs involved in DUI investigations, DUI task force investigations and equipment.
