Holiday rock: Here are the top YouTube music videos of 2016

PHOENIX — Earlier this week, we brought you the most-viewed YouTube videos of the year.
But in our research, we realized how many of the most-watched videos of all time are music videos, so that got us thinking: Why not make a list of the most popular music videos of the year as well?
In case you were wondering, the video that has received the most views ever was the crazy viral hit “Gangnam Style” by South Korean artist Psy. You remember that one, right?
However, there is a caveat: Some of the year’s biggest hits included some questionable language or imagery in the music videos, so we left those off the list. Consider this the relatively family-friendly version of the list, but you may want to watch these before sharing them with your kids just to be sure!
As you scroll through the list below — it’s in ascending order, so the No. 1 song is on the bottom — we recommend turning up the sound settings. Some of these songs have a great beat and had us dancing at our desks (If our boss is reading this, we promise it was for work).
