The parade, which rolls through the streets of downtown Phoenix, was set for Jan. 2.
Johnson finished his career with a record of 303-166. He joined the D-backs twice, the first time from 1999 to 2004, and again from 2007 to 2008.
His family has stayed in Arizona.
In Johnson’s honor, the Fiesta Bowl will donate $10,000 to Save the Family, a nonprofit that provides homeless Valley families with transitional housing and support services.
Past grand marshals have included astronaut John Glenn, legendary pilot Chuck Yeager, former Olympic gold medal swimmer Amy Van Dyken-Rouen, the families of the Granite Mountain Hotshots and former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner.
