Faith in Humanity: Group wants to recycle 1,000 donated bicycles for holiday gifts
One Arizona group is working to make sure 1,000 children in foster care can know what it's like to get a bicycle during the holiday season.

One of the most common gift requests from small children is a bicycle to call their own.
Most people can recount the first time they were given a bike and how much it meant to them. It’s practically a milestone on life.
One Arizona group is working to make sure 1,000 children in foster care can have the same experience by giving them a donated bicycle during the holiday season.
The Arizona Association for Foster and Adoptive Parents’s Recycle your Bicycle seeks to gather older bikes that aren’t being used and refurbish them to make a suitable gift for a child in the foster system.
The program has given away 3,500 bikes since the program began, but with about 19,000 children in the state care system, there is always more work to be done.
Recycle your Bicycle is looking for bike donations and volunteers to help repair donated bicycles. Donations to the group can also be made online.

That's pretty cool. Also be aware that almost all of the malls let the Salvation Army do Christmas Angel. If you know someone less fortunate, they need to register soon to have their childrens names added to the tree. Shoppers choose a child based on age, gender, or the gifts they'd like. The shopper buys the gifts and returns them to the table. Donated money goes to buying gifts for kids whose name cards were not picked off the tree, or to complete the requests. there are people who go to a particular warehouse in the east valley and assemble bikes for a couple of weekends and then they go out for distribution. This is every year.
